Cooperation international
One of the statutory objectives of our Association is to establish cooperation with similar organisations in Europe and in the world and keep mutual exchange of experience, knowledge and inspirations. We are very active in Europe and all over the world:
- The IFW is one of six organisations forming the Central European Business Women's Academy. CEBWA was established in 2000 in Budapest - it associates organisations of Czech Republic, Croatia, Yugoslavia, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary. The objective of this cooperation is to support women-entrepreneurs through mutual contacts, exchange of experience and organisation of training.
- In 2000, we were in the USA to meet organisations in Boston, Washington and representatives of Polish businesswomen in New York.
- Together with Swedish women we implemented a project promoting the entrepreneurship in these two countries "Forum Malardalen-Poland" (2001)
- We established contacts with business organisations in the Ukraine.
- We participated in a study visit in Kyrgyzstan, and then we organised a one-week stay for 12 Kyrgyz women-entrepreneurs in Poland during which we shared our knowledge and experience with them - 19-25 November 2001. On the agenda, there were seminars in Warsaw, Zelow, Łodz, Tomaszow Maz. and Olsztyn and visits in 9 companies run by women, two foundations for entrepreneurship development and in an entrepreneur incubator.
- We took an active part in the European Commission Program "Cyber Market", promoting enterprising women of Europe on the Internet (2001-2003).
- We cooperated in the project "Financing of female businesses" within the framework of the CEBWA, 5-7 October 2001, Belgrad
- We participated in a meeting at which the representatives of business of Moldavia were present. The meeting was held in the BCC - 9 October 2002. Subsequent meeting - at which we had guests from Armenia, was held on 12 December.
- We participated in the V Economic Forum of Central and Eastern Europe, during which 3 sessions were devoted to women's entrepreneurship, 13-15 November 2002 in Skopje (Macedonia)
- In December 2003, together with entrepreneurs from Germany and Turkey we participated in a conference in Berlin, where women's entrepreneur incubator inspired our members from Gdansk to establish similar one in Poland.
- We participated - as lecturers - in a study visits in Poland. Our guests were representatives of business organisations from Eastern Europe - Moldova, Albania, Belarus, and the Ukraine.
- The International Forum for Women together with the Centre for the Advancement of Women organised Polish edition of the contest Women of Europe Award 2003/2004 (Kobiety Europy 2003/2004), initiated in 1987 by the International Association for Promotion of Women in Europe. The objective of the contest is to select a woman who particularly contributed to European activities. Every two years the International Association for the Promotion of Women of Europe, based in Brussels, awards one participant with a golden medal.
- We participated in the first forum of Businesswomen organisations of the Mediterranean and countries that have just recently joined the European Union MED - PHARE, 29-31 January 2004, Barcelona.
- In August 2004, we went on an economic mission to the RSA. The mission was under the patronage of the Ambassador Sikose Mji.
